I deferred my single race in 2017 and have signed up with a deferment code for 2018. How can I add the King Crab Challenge?

Depending on which race you deferred in 2017, you will need to individually register for the other two races in the series. Once you’ve done so, please complete this form to be included in the King Crab Challenge (Deadline to complete this is August 1, 2018).

I am registered for (1) or (2) of the three King Crab races and want to do the King Crab Challenge. How do I sign up?

You will need to register separately for the remaining one or two races and then complete this form to be officially included in the King Crab Challenge. You will receive a confirmation email of the change once you’ve been added.

I am registered for the Frederick Half or the Baltimore Half and want to do the Maryland Double. How do I sign up?

You will need to register separately for whichever race you are not yet registered for and complete the form at the bottom of this page to link them together so that you are eligible for the additional Maryland Double medal.

What is the deadline for adding my name to the list for the King Crab Challenge or Maryland Double?

August 1, 2018.  We need time to order medals and incentives for all of the King Crab and Maryland Double participants so we need to be notified of your participation in the challenge by August 1.

I deferred either the King Crab Challenge or the Maryland Double in 2017 but I can only participate in one event this year. Can I receive a partial refund for the races I am not participating in?

Sorry, we will not be issuing refunds if you choose to not participate in all the events in 2018.

Deferrals are not permitted two years in a row.

I am registered for the King Crab Challenge or Maryland Double and need to defer, what do I do?

Prior to the deferral deadline for the Frederick Running Festival:

  • If you would like to defer all three races, click here, make sure you are logged into RunSignUp, and select “defer registration.”
  • The deadline to defer all three races is two weeks prior to the Frederick Running Festival.
  • If you would like to defer just one or two of your race entries, please email customer service, deadlines to defer will still be valid.

After the Frederick Running Festival deferral deadline:

  •  You will only be able to defer the Baltimore 10-Miler and/or Baltimore Running Festival.
  • There is a $25 deferral fee per race.
  • Contact customer service at least three days prior to the deferral deadline to process these deferrals as it is a multi-step process.

Deadline to defer the Baltimore 10-Miler is Friday, May 18.

Deadline to defer the Baltimore Running Festival is Friday, October 5.

Where will the Royal Banquet be held in 2018?

The banquet location is the Hard Rock Cafe in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.  The banquet will be held in mid-November, usually on a weeknight. This is an optional event and will include discounts and special offers on food and drinks as well as door prizes and discount offers.
