5K

The Gazette Twilight 5K Race is open to participants of all ages.  The race will start at 6 pm, on Saturday, May 5th.  Entries will be accepted until the field is filled to 1500 runners.

Course Description
The Gazette Twilight 5K will start and end at the Frederick Fairgrounds.  The course will include one water stop at mile 1.5.   Course Map and Elevation Chart.

Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be on Saturday, May 5th from 10:00am - 5:00pm at the Frederick Fairgrounds. All runners are required to pick up their bib race number and other important information during this time. All premiums must be picked up before the 5K starts at 6pm. 

• All registered participants will receive bib numbers that must be worn on race day.
• Please fill in the necessary medical and emergency contact information on the back of the bib number with a pen or waterproof marker.
• Please do not alter the bib in any way.
• The bib must be visible and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race.  Make sure your bib number is clearly visible for the race photographers.
• Bib numbers are nontransferable and must be worn by the registrant to whom it has been assigned.
• There will be Bag Check for the 5K

The Nitty Gritty
The following items are not permitted on the course: pets, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, baby joggers and any other type of vehicle (other than official race vehicles). These regulations are for your safety and the safety of the other participants in the race. Corrigan Sports reserves the right to disqualify and remove anyone from the course who has any of the above items.

Nut Job Challenge

Over the years, we have learned that some of our participants are certifiably nuts!  Many of you can't get enough running and are always looking for the next challenge.  Well, now we have just the thing for you!

We are proud to announce the 2nd Annual Frederick Nut Job Challenge.  Runners who complete both the Half-Marathon on Sunday and the Twilight 5K on Saturday will receive a special Nut Job race bib valid for both events AND earn a custom Nut Job medal. Medals will be distributed following the completion of the half marathon.  Your special bib will help our volunteers and eveyone else identify you as a Nut Job (and let them know to run the other way... very quickly!).

HOW TO REGISTER:

From the online registration page of the website, you will see a special category called Nut Job!  Select this category and we will make sure you receive your special Nut Job race bib at pick-up.  By registering using this category you will SAVE $5 OFF your total combined registration fee. 

If you have already registered for one of the race distances but did not register for the Nut Job, simply register for the other race and contact us customerservice@corrigansports.comto let us know you are a Nut Job!  We will have to make the adjustment in our system manually.  Please Note:  If you register using this method, you waive your right to the discount.

 

 

Awards
Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall finishers.

Gift certificates will be given to the top male and female finishers in each 5-year age group from 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & over.  All Age Group Awards will be mailed.

Race Premiums  
   Runners will be able to pick up their premium pre-race at the expo on Saturday, May 5th until 6pm. Stay tuned     for more info!
